Functional Skills in Maths and English Level 1 and 2

What will I learn in Functional Skills In English and Maths?

This course is perfect if you are an adult student age 19+ who wants to improve your English and Maths skills, build your confidence and enhance your employability skills.

You do not need any qualifications to come on these courses as we have classes for you, whether you are still struggling with literacy or numeracy skills (entry-level) or need to improve your skills in preparation for GCSE (Levels 1 & 2)

You will improve your functional skills in English and Mathematics and develop your understanding of where and when to apply the relevant skills to work-related scenarios and situations related to your life. The course covers a breadth of topics our trainers will support you with.

For functional skills in Maths, you will develop the application of many skills, including:

1. Representing: choosing Maths tools to solve a problem
2. Analysing: using Maths tools to solve a problem
3. Interpreting: being able to describe the Maths being used.

For functional skills in English, you will develop the application of the following skills:

1. Reading
2. Writing
3. Speaking & Listening
4. writing cover letters
5. develop both informal and formal writing styles.
