Train to become a Counselor by achieving our advanced CPCAB counseling qualification. Learn how to advise and support people experiencing emotional difficulties or challenges.
This course offers both practical and theoretical training covering:
– counseling skills
– concepts of counseling
– beginning theory and skills in counseling
– personal therapy
– theory and practice
On the practical side, you will start to work with real clients and will need to secure a placement in an outside agency. Over the 2 years of the course, you need to have completed a minimum of 100 voluntary counseling hours. You are required to attend supervision.
You will also be required to undertake 20 hours of personal therapy each year.
It is also essential that you become a student member of the British Association of Counseling and Psychotherapists (BACP).
You must have achieved the CPCAB Certificate in Counselling at Level 2 and the CPCAB Certificate in Counselling Skills and Theory at Level 3. Admission onto this course is by interview.
